Introducing our New Director Kate LePage: "Looking Forward to our Work Ahead"

Good morning,

I’m honored to introduce myself as the new Director of the North Dakota Human Trafficking Task Force, and I want to take a moment to share how truly excited I am to be joining this team and community.

Over nearly a decade, I’ve had the privilege of working in and overseeing a variety of victim services programs across rural Minnesota. My previous role as the Safe Harbor Navigator for East Central and Northwest Minnesota provided invaluable opportunities to build resources in underserved areas, strengthen multidisciplinary responses, and partner closely with survivor subject matter experts. Through that work, I remained grounded in trauma-informed, survivor-centered practices that have shaped both my professional values and leadership approach.

While my anti-trafficking experience has been rooted in Minnesota, I am energized to begin this new chapter in North Dakota. I look forward to learning from each of you—about the systems, responses, and resources that make this work unique here. Every community has its own strengths, and I’m eager to listen, learn, and build on what is already in place.

In the coming weeks, I hope to connect with as many of you as possible to better understand your roles, your experiences, and your vision for the future. I value open communication, collaboration, and shared purpose—and I truly believe we achieve the most when we bring our diverse knowledge and perspectives together.

Thank you for the warm welcome I’ve received so far. I’m grateful to be here and excited for what we’ll accomplish together.

Warm regards,
Kate LePage
